Service Request Number for Communication with Registrar of Companies and Regional Directors

• MCA has directed the Registrar of Companies and the Regional Directors of MCA, at all locations, to enter all cases of complaints, inspections, inquiries, investigations and prosecutions against Companies and LLPs, in the MCA electronic registry, MCA21, before issuing any letter, notice, order etc. Subsequently, a Service Request Number (“SRN”) is generated, that is required to be mandatorily specified in all such communications to Companies, LLPs, and their officers, auditors, etc.
• MCA has advised to treat any such communication received from the Registrar of Companies and the Regional Directors of MCA, without a SRN, as unauthorised and need not be responded to.
