MCA Update-Extension of period to hold EGMs through video conferencing or other audio visual means

• MCA has further extended the period for allowing companies to hold extra-ordinary general meetings (“EGMs”) through video conferencing or other audio visual means or transact items through postal ballots from June 30, 2021 till December 31, 2021, in accordance with the provisions of Companies Act, 2013 and the rules thereunder.

 

• The framework for conducting EGMs on account of the COVID-19 pandemic issued by MCA vide circulars dated April 8, 2020 (available here) and April 13, 2020 (available here) remains unchanged.
