CA Update Permitted CSR Activities in relation to COVID-19

MCA had clarified that spending of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds for COVID-19 is an eligible CSR activity in March 2020. 

 

Now, the following additional activities are also considered as eligible CSR activities under Schedule VII of the Companies Act, 2013:

 

• Setting up makeshift hospitals; and 

 

• Setting up temporary COVID–19 care facilities 

 

Further. the companies are permitted to undertake the above-mentioned activities in consultation with the State Governments, subject to the provisions of the Companies Act, rules and circulars issued thereunder.
